Doctor Who: 10 Most Annoying Companions Of The Revived Series

1. Lady Christina De Souza

Many would argue that labelling somebody as the most annoying Doctor Who companion of the last decade is harsh (and you're probably right!), but in this case, surely it's justified? In fact, you'd no doubt already guessed that Lady Christina de Souza would be at the top of this list, and if you hadn't then it's probably because you've suppressed the memory that she was ever even in it at all. Sorry to remind you, but it really did happen. In her defence, though, Lady Christina was pretty much doomed from the off. It didn't help matters that she's only been in one episode, of course, which just so happens to be one of the worst in Doctor Who history. She crossed paths with the Tenth Doctor in the 2009 Easter "special", Planet of the Dead, but one does have to wonder why she even bothered showing up at all. A self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie, she quite literally came swinging into action when she robbed a rather tacky looking chalice from a museum. A strong debut by anyone's standards but then she didn€™t really do all that much after that. She "helped" the Doctor defeat the Swarm, to give credit where credit's due, and she even kissed him at one point, so there's always that. It all ended with her flying off for adventures anew in a double-decker bus and€ oh, that€™s pretty much it. Her real life alter ego, Michelle Ryan, was already a household name for her role as Zoe Slater in EastEnders (she's one of many actors who has swapped the Queen Vic for the TARDIS - here are some others!) but something tells us her short but sweet contribution to the Whoniverse won't be going down in TV history alongside her storylines on Albert Square. Her soap character did find out that her sister was actually her mother and her uncle was her father, though, so Lady Christina (what sort of name is that, anyway?!) really never stood a chance. Talk about keeping it in the family. River Song, eat your heart out... What did you think of this list? Are there any other NuWho companions that should've been included?
