Doctor Who: 10 Most Controversial Mythos Changes Of NuWho

6. Clara In The Doctor's Timeline

Apparently, Time Lord graves don't have a body, as viewers discovered in The Name of the Doctor when the show visited the Doctor's grave on Trenzalore. Instead, there's a rip in the fabric of time created by all of their time travel, which allows access to their enitre history. Both the Great Intelligence and Clara delved into the Doctor's timeline to huge effect. However, Clara going back was controversial among numerous fans. Watchers got to see moments like the Doctor stealing the TARDIS and archive footage and body doubles allowed for the creation of multi-Doctor adventures... sort of. But some felt that Clara going back in time to save the Doctor from the Great Intelligence was undermining all of his previous triumphs over his enemies. Others felt that it was just restoring the timeline from the Intelligence's meddling and allowing an explanation for all previous inconsistences in the Whoniverse - the Great Intelligence did it! Still, it's in doubt whether any of it even happened after all. After The Time of the Doctor, the Doctor never died on Trenzalore so his grave was never there for Clara or the Intelligence to enter. As a result, it's unclear whether anything changed and whether all that viewers actually discovered was the nature of time travellers' graves. Who knows!?
