Doctor Who: 10 Most Powerful Daleks Ever

5. Supreme Paradigm Dalek

Bigger and badder than previous Supremes, this white commander looked like a futuristic version of the '60s Movie Daleks. With a bulkier body and oversized weapons, this was a Supreme who lived up to its name

This Dalek was the leader of a new Paradigm of multicoloured Daleks, each with different ranks and specialisms. First appearing in 2010's Victory of the Daleks, the Supreme was obsessed with 'racial purity' and cleansing unclean species with maximum extermination - including inferior Daleks.

Having been created from a progenitor - a storage device for new Dalek DNA - the new Supreme ordered the extermination of the 'impure' Daleks who had activated it. Holding World War II London hostage by turning on its lights in the middle of the Blitz, the Eleventh Doctor was forced to let this Dalek and its new Paradigm escape in order to stop them.

This was one of the few times the Daleks actually 'won', surviving to cause the Doctor and his companions problems in future adventures. This included forming an Alliance of the Doctor's enemies and trapping him within the perfect prison known as the Pandorica.

The Supreme was later destroyed in The Wedding of River Song by the Doctor, who required its data core for information on the Silence. As well as the core, the Doctor also claimed its eyestalk and used it to buy the location of Gideon Vandaleur - an operative of the Silence that the shapeshifting Teselecta was disguised as.

Bright in colour but deadly and calculative in nature, this member of the ruling class was one of the most formidable.
