Doctor Who: 10 Most Shocking Moments

3. The First Regeneration Of The Doctor

doctorsregen1

Imagine watching The Tenth Planet in full, and seeing the frail, but stubborn First Doctor collapse on the TARDIS console room floor, surrounded by his two companions Ben and Polly. Throughout the Tenth Planet, the First Doctor was not feeling very well. Ben and Polly have just started traveling with him, so they have no idea what is wrong with him. But the Doctor is able to help out with the Cybermen situation, and then that is when he makes his way through the snow, back into the TARDIS. He collapses and soon the face begins to change. He turns into a younger Doctor, the Second Doctor, played by Patrick Troughton. Right now the regeneration scene exists for the Tenth Planet with very few brief clips here and there as well. But they are planning on releasing the DVD later this year with the full fourth episode animated, including the regeneration sequence. The regeneration sequence has always been such a big ordeal in the world of Doctor Who, but to witness the very first regeneration had to be the one of the most surprising moments.

I am a sales associate by day, and 3D artist and writer at night. I have a passion for Doctor Who, especially the Fifth Doctor era. I go to conventions when I have the funds, and I also make costumes on my spare time.
