Doctor Who: 10 Most Underrated Tenth Doctor Episodes
9. The Unicorn And The Wasp
‘The Unicorn and the Wasp’ is more than a little silly, and as a result, fans of the show don’t hold this episode in high esteem.
Nevertheless, the reason this episode works is because the cast and the crew evidently knew the episode was ridiculous. Rather than trying to be too serious, this episode fully embraces its own absurdity.
The story is a giant parody of an Agatha Christie novel involving Donna and the Doctor teaming up with the famous author to solve several murders at a manor house in the English countryside.
Seeing Donna and the Doctor’s reaction to Agatha Christie alone makes this episode worth watching, and the scene in which the Doctor is poisoned is one of the funniest moments of the whole show.
Once again, the villain is the weakest part of the episode thanks to some poor CGI. Aside from this, however, ‘The Unicorn and the Wasp’ makes for an entertaining episode full of self-awareness and humour.
