Doctor Who: 10 Most Unlikely Allies Of The Daleks
5. Winston Churchill
In 2010's Victory of the Daleks, even Winston Churchill became an unwitting ally to the Daleks.
Building an android and assuming the role of Union Flag-wearing robotic servants, the Daleks infiltrated Churchill's cabinet war rooms in a scheme to lure the Doctor to them. Being the last three Daleks in existence following the events of 2009's Journey's End, this was their last-ditch attempt at survival - and their plot needed Winston Churchill.
Unsure of the undercover android Edwin Bracewell and his 'Ironsides', which he claimed to have built for the war effort, Churchill phoned in one of his oldest friends - the Doctor.
When the Doctor arrived and identified the supreme beings as the Daleks and not 'Ironsides', the trap was sprung.
The Daleks had needed their enemy's confirmation of their identity to activate the Progenitor - a device storing Dalek DNA - after it had registered them as impure. Using the Doctor's 'testimony', the Ironsides managed to create a new Paradigm of Daleks.
Realising that the only way to stop the Daleks was to use their own technology against them, Churchill scrambled Spitfires equipped with Dalek-tech and sent them into space to battle his former allies.
With the Daleks escaping, the military leader vowed to continue fighting the Nazis on his own planet.
