Doctor Who: 10 Myths And Legends That Should Be Explored
9. Egyptian Gods
This is another one thats already been done in a way. Pyramids Of Mars (1975) had a heavy Egyptian influence and its antagonist Sutekh The Destroyer was based on the Ancient Egyptian deity Set: god of storms, the desert, and chaos. And unfortunately he spent most of Pyramids Of Mars stuck on a chair so a comeback for him is long overdue. And in a story that brings back Sutekh, the pantheon of other Egyptian gods could be brought in as members of his race the Osirans. It would help to round out Sutekh as a character more and definitely add something to Doctor Who mythology while creating an in-depth Egypt-based story for the first time. And a literal battle of the gods would be an excellent scenario for a series finale. Particularly if it involved the Twelfth Doctor leading a team of Osirans into battle. Set has been immortalised in Doctor Who canon as a being of largely unrealised omnipotent power. So bring on Khonsu, Ra, Sobek, and all of the other Egyptian gods that could be integrated into Doctor Who and lay waste to countless worlds.
