Doctor Who: 10 New Things They Can Do With Clara

7. A Tale Of Two Claras

Doctor Who Clara Double

An opportunity that merits both great drama and comedy. If there are numerous versions of Clara Oswald scattered across space and time, conceivably Clara Prime could run into one of these versions. Part of this depends on just how much she remembers - the entirety of every life she lived or just the moments where she connected with the Doctor? If it is the latter, Clara is immediately presented with two opportunities. If the version of Clara she encounters has not yet met a Doctor and thus undone the actions of the Great Intelligence, the drama could centre on Clara Prime's actions to ensure this new Clara fulfils her role. If it is post-Doctor, then who knows where the version of Clara encountered could go? 1) Both Claras could work together with the Doctor, perhaps with mutual appreciation, perhaps with a sort of sibling rivalry, bringing some brilliant comedy to the situation. 2) This post-Clara could have been traumatised by the events that led her to cross paths with the Doctor. Perhaps stranded in the caves of Androzani Major after the Fifth Doctor gave his life to save Peri. Or trapped in the alternate future from Day Of The Daleks, forced to flee to the Dalek suppressors and their Ogrons warriors. What would that do to Clara? What is she was so broken. What if she became a villain herself? How would Clara prime and the Twelfth Doctor deal with that? Two good Claras would be a lot of fun but Clara Prime and Dark Clara...there are some interesting possibilities there. And talking of enemies from the past...
