Doctor Who: 10 Predictions For The 10th Anniversary Of NuWho
2. More Time Lords
The Doctor should't find Gallifrey just yet. The Day of the Doctor ended the Time War arc which began as far back as Rose and kick-started the search for Gallifrey story that has so far only been touched upon a handful of times. The earliest point should be the Twelfth Doctor's regeneration and we are all hoping that Peter Capaldi will be sticking around for some time yet. Besides, the Time Lords were always less interesting each time the Doctor visited Gallifrey in the classic era. However that doesn't mean fans can't see other Time Lords on the show in the meantime. After all, they are not a dead race - they're just trapped in a pocket universe. If Missy can escape, so can others. There have been rumours about rebel Time Lords before Series 8 even began so it wouldn't be surprising if a new incarnation of the Meddling Monk or the Rani turned up in cahoots with her or seeking their own insidious agenda. Better still, what about a former ally like Romane? Fans never saw her after she ventured into E Space. Could Lalla Ward make a return? Or a new actress as Romana III? The chances of the Doctor encountering more Time Lords out there are strong for Series 9. It would certainly make his journey to locate Gallifrey far more interesting and raise the stakes for the '10th anniversary' series of Nu Who...
