Doctor Who: 10 Predictions For The 10th Anniversary Of NuWho

3. Missy€™s Next Master Plan

Missy€™s comeback is pretty much a given, with both Steven Moffat and Michelle Gomez alluding to the return of the Doctor's nemesis at some point in the future. Delivering an unhinged, maniacal and altogether fresh take on the Master, Gomez's Missy had amazing chemistry with Capaldi's Doctor and it would be a waste for her to have died at the end of the Death In Heaven. The Master never stays gone for long and keen eyed viewers would have noticed that she moved herself into position and vanished in a blue light not dissimilar to her teleportation device when the Cyber-Brigadier 'killed her'. As to what she will be up to next is anyone's guess. Rather than save her for another big finale, the best place for Missy to make her return would be in a surprise appearance mid season - perhaps another two-parter, maybe even becoming responsible for the final demise/departure of Clara. Missy is as intrinsically linked to the return of Gallifrey as the Doctor. She managed to escape sometime around the events of The Day of the Doctor or The Time of the Doctor but how and why is as much a big part of her story as her continuing love/hate relationship with the Doctor. Her next plan is likely to be smaller in scale but no less fiendish. Whatever it is, Michelle Gomez will be a welcome returnee to Doctor Who.
