Doctor Who: 10 Reasons Big Finish Is Better Than The TV Series

10. Everything Is Connected

The reinvented TV show has attempted its fair share of "story arcs" - with varying degrees of success - over the years but since Big Finish started writing €œseasons€ of audio stories for Paul McGann€™s Eighth Doctor, they writers have showcased an excellent ability to implement a theme in a way that rewards its regular listeners without alienating the casual ones along the way. From recurring enemies (the mysterious Headhunter who pursues companion Lucie Miller through her first few seasons, for example) to the Doctor recovering from spending centuries without a TARDIS and living with peaceful fish-folk (the third season€™s Orbis and its subsequent stories) through to the fourth season's revelations about the Meddling Monk, they have ensured that while each story stands alone, they all contribute to the bigger picture with some threads even managing to run seamlessly through multiple seasons.
