9. Individual Episodes
Last year, Doctor Who was a Story-Long Arc, with each episode pointing to one big eventuality. Now, I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the last series, in fact, it was right up my street, but it is nice to have some difference and a break from that narrative approach. Why? Well, because last year we were thinking incredibly hard while watching each episode of how it was all connected, and for some, it was a bit much. This year though, the approach was completely different: each was a single focused adventure and we were able to enjoy without the constant thought of how this applies to the entire series. You could easily watch them out of order without feeling completely left behind or confused afterwards. Each episode stood out on its own, with completely different themes running through every one. And, in addition I thought all the movie-like promo pictures they released were incredibly awesome - they will make fantastic posters.
