Doctor Who: 10 Reasons The Doctor Should Never Be A Woman

2. All The Wrong Places

The primary reason people do want the Doctor to be female is because they want change - something fresh and exciting. Then again, if casting is the only thing you€™re worried about, you€™re barking up the wrong tree because casting is the least of the show€™s problems. What the show needs is solid writing (if Russell T Davies could just come back), lesser plot holes, better characters and€ well, that€™s about it, really. And it definitely needs to be less like Sherlock, if you know what that means. To put it simply, it needs its magic back. Over the years, Doctor Who has significantly lost its charm because if you think back to Classic Who, no one really complained about the show€™s lacking or felt the need to alter something about it. Everyone was pretty much happy about whatever the show appeared to offer. There was no talk of a female Doctor or anything similar because there wasn€™t much room for thought when the never ceased timey-wimey stuff consumed you. Monochromatic film and terrible make up, included.
