Doctor Who: 10 Reasons You'll Never Be Cooler Than The Doctor

3. He Talks To Himself In Awesome Monologues

When most of us talk to ourselves, it just comes off as weird. We discuss menial, boring things, and often pause to ask ourselves, "What am I doing again?" Unless you're quite unique, you generally don't talk to yourself about creatures that have evolved to possess the ability to be completely invisible. Well, the Doctor does. When he talks to himself, he questions about whether or not we can truly be alone. The monologue at the beginning of Listen is pretty darn cool, and it's easy to assume that any other time the Doctor talks to himself, he's plotting some sort of daring escape from whatever seemingly impossible situation he's in. That's just a little bit more important than you asking yourself where you've left my keys.
