Doctor Who: 10 Theories About What Happens To The Fourteenth Doctor

2. He Becomes The Curator

The Valeyard isn’t the only established character the Fourteenth Doctor could eventually become.

Ten years before bi-generation entered the equation, Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary special gave us the Curator.

This mysterious figure, strongly implied to be a future iteration of the Doctor, hinted that the Doctor might find himself revisiting old faces in years to come (hence why he looks suspiciously like the Doctor’s fourth incarnation).

In retrospect, this scene brilliantly predicts the existence of the Fourteenth Doctor. But the parallels don’t end there.

As well as resembling previous incarnations, both characters are apparently “retired” and living in present-day London. Which begs the question: could the Curator actually be the Fourteenth Doctor?

Given how little is known about the Curator, it’s not 100% clear how this would work. But it has been established, on audio, that he’s not just limited to one form (so far, he’s also adopted the guise of an older Sixth Doctor). So it’s entirely possible that he once wore the face of the Tenth.

Maybe Fourteen regenerates into the Curator. They're not in the same time period mind you, so some timey-wimey shenanigans would have to be at play for Fourteen to end up in that art gallery in 2013. But that's what the TARDIS is for!

Who knows, eh? Who. Knows?
