9. He Is Doctor "O"
John Hurt could be the original Doctor, you know, before Christopher Eccleston. Just kidding. I know I gave 26 of you out there heart attacks of nerd infuriation. Doctor Hurt could be the pre-Hartnell character, before he regenerated into what we know as the 1st Doctor. He could be a version that has not yet called himself the Doctor, and still retains his original name. The name that is such a pivotal secret right now. Likelihood? Quite possible. This would make sense as to why Doctor 11 recognizes him, and also why he claims that the things he has done were not done in the name of the Doctor. This would also allow for the Doctors to still be numbered as they currently are and mostly make sense. The 11th Doctor would just become the "11th regeneration". This could also be why he is the Doctor's secret. If he retains the character's original name, this would make sense why we haven't seen him nor heard about him up to this point.
