Doctor Who: 10 Things Fans Want From Series 9 (But Won't Get)

8. The Series To Be Fixed In Time

Doctor Who is supposed to be a Saturday teatime treat; early enough that kids will still be up to watch it, but late enough so adults can settle down to watch TV for the night. Last year the series premiere, which had an extended running time, didn't start until 19:50, the latest opening episode since the show's revival.

The show then did what it always seems to do: move around that time each week, within, say, 30 minutes or so of it. So you'd have episodes at 19:45, or 19:30. All of them probably too late to truly fit with the supposed mismatched audience, but the bigger point is the fact that there's no fixed time at all.

Nearly all big shows have their own time-slot, so that fans know where and when they can watch it. With Doctor Who, you have to check every week just what time it's on. It'd be much easier for fans, and respectful of the show's status, if they could just give it a permanent slot (around 18:30-19:00 would be pretty much perfect).
