Doctor Who: 10 Things That Must Happen In Series 10
1. The Definitive Twelfth Doctor
More important than giving Moffat a good swansong, though, is that Series 10 acts as a strong goodbye to Peter Capaldi's Doctor. Recently, the 58-year-old actor announced that he would be jumping ship with his showrunner at the end of this year, leaving Chris Chibnall to start afresh in 2018.
What we want most above all else for Series 10 to do, then, is to give us the definitive take on the Twelfth Doctor. More than any other incarnation, Capaldi's Doctor has undergone a distinct change in his character every year. In Series 8, he was moody and cantankerous. Then in Series 9, he had completely altered his personality: suddenly he was an aging rocker.
For Series 10, we woud like to see the two very different halves of the character brought together. We already saw shades of this in The Return of Doctor Mysterio, as Capaldi played it more good-humoured and sociable but without the gimmicky electric guitar and sonic sunglasses.
If this series properly nails the Twelfth Doctor's character, it could ensure that Capaldi goes down as one of the best Doctors, which is exactly what the great actor deserves.
