Doctor Who: 10 Things That Must Happen In Series 10

2. Moffat's Era Ends With A Bang

Doctor Who fans might know the story of how and why this is Steven Moffat's final season of Doctor Who. Previously, he was intending to leave after 2015's The Husbands of River Song. However, incoming showrunner Chris Chibnall could not take over until the 2018 series, and so Moffat decided to stay on for the extra year.

This scenario is slightly worrying as it means that Moffat has remained on the show longer than he really wanted to. As such, this could result in his dedication to the show naturally starting to slip. Hopefully, though, he has used the knowledge that this is 100% his last year to go all out in making it his best one. After all, the liklihood is that the writer won't work on the show in any capacity again so this is his last chance to use up any great ideas he has been holding back.

Moffat has already confirmed that he won't do a Russell T Davies-esque naval-gazing ending (see The End of Time: Part Two), but all we want is for Series 10 to act as a strong farewell to the show's longest and, in many ways, most successful showrunner to date.
