Doctor Who: 10 Things That Must Not Happen In Series 9
How not to screw up Capaldi's second series.
It goes without saying that the entirety of Doctor Who fandom is currently spending their time eagerly awaiting the next series of Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor. It also goes without saying that Doctor Who fandom is an incredibly finicky lot and has no shortage of opinions on things that 'absolutely have to happen'. What tends to get mentioned less is that for every thing that fandom has decreed absolutely has to happen, there are also a couple other things that absolutely should not. Or, at least, would be a very bad idea if they did. Now, before going any further it should be acknowledged that, contrary to popular belief, Steven Moffat & Co are obviously under no obligation to listen to fandom. No matter how many sternly worded message board posts one might make, one still does not get to dictate whether or not the Movellans finally return in Series 9. At the end of the day, whether fandom decrees that something must or must not happen has almost no impact on what eventually makes it to our screens, however much certain vocal sections of the online community appear to believe otherwise. With that firmly in mind, here's a look at a few things that - all things being equal - better not happen in the next series. Spoilers if you haven't seen Series 8 (although at this point you only have yourself to blame. Honestly, have you been living in a yurt?).
