2. It Won't Be Liked By Half Of The Fandom

It's pretty much standard now for a new Doctor Who episode - especially one that's been written by Steven Moffat - to be hated by half of the show's fandom before it's even aired. Why that is remains a mystery but it's as traditional as the Doctor Who Christmas Specials themselves. As such, Last Christmas will no doubt be preceded by the usual outpourings of anger and disgust but for all the hate, there's a whole lotta love too. It's just a bit of fun, after all, so try not to be bogged down in the nitty gritty of it all. Think of it as a way to bridge the gap between the main series, which obviously was a lot more reassuring when the following series would start the following Easter and now it's practically a whole year away. But that's a discussion for another day.
