10. The World Won't End

Well, duh! It's always a relief, isn't it? Especially for the Doctor, anyway, because it means he gets a day off! Aliens trying to take over the world at Christmas isn't a new thing, though (see pretty much every single Doctor Who Christmas Special ever), and while Steven Moffat's already done some pretty daring things in his time as showrunner, something tells us he isn't about to wipe out the human race completely. He's saving that one for Series 9, anyway. But just what formidable foes will the Twelfth Doctor and Clara Oswald be facing in Last Christmas, you ask? Well, they're called the Sleepers and the Dream Crabs and by the sounds of things, they're gonna be pretty scary indeed. Almost too scary, according to some initial reviews, but if you can't send children screaming behind their sofas on Christmas Day, when can you? The Moff has already made us terrified of statues, blinking and monsters under our beds and it looks like crabs are the next thing on his agenda. How very shellfish of him.
