8. Michael Troughton Won't Be The Second Doctor

If there's one thing Doctor Who fans are good at, it's making a mountain out of a molehill. Honestly, just because one of the guest stars happens to be the real life son of Second Doctor Patrick Troughton, it doesn't mean he's gonna actually be the Second Doctor. That would provoke all kinds of timey-wimey. Besides, Peter Davison's real life daughter, Georgia Moffat, was cast in the series and she didn't turn out to be one of the Time Lord's off spring did she? Oh, wait... Doctor Who's keeping it in the family this season as Michael Troughton will be appearing in Last Christmas as Professor Albert and, while he probably won't be revealed as the latest actor to take on the role that made his father a household name, there's still a chance his character will be related to Professor Hobbes who is real life brother, David Troughton, played in Series 4's Midnight. It'd be a nice tidbit of trivia to keep the eagle eyed fans happy, anyway.
