Doctor Who: 10 Things To Do While You're Waiting For The New Series

10. Rewatch The Last Series...

If you're looking for a way to keep your Doctor Who withdrawal symptoms at bay, the most obvious starting point is to watch the latest string of adventures that graced our screens in 2014. It was a particularly auspicious year for the show because it marked the official and long awaited debut of Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor... and he certainly didn't disappoint! Series 8 consisted of 12 high octane adventures which kick offed with the feature-length premiere Deep Breath and ended with the climactic Dark Water/Death in Heaven two-parter in which Missy was finally revealed as the Master. Along the way, the titular Time Lord and his ever faithful (although it was hit and miss for a minute there...) companion Clara Oswald journeyed to the Sherwood forest, the end of the universe itself and the most dangerous bank in the cosmos before facing off with a horrifying mummy on the Orient Express and untangling a mysterious forest which had grown overnight to take back the Earth... and that was just the start of the action! In a nutshell, Series 8 was truly unmissable and it's now available to buy on DVD and Blu-ray so you can relive the timey-wimey drama from start to finish. If you're in the UK, it's also currently being repeated on BBC Three so you've got no excuse not to embark on the Twelfth Doctor's debut escapades all over again. With the boxset you can either pace yourself to make it last longer or indulge in it all at once if you're feeling particularly adventurous. The choice is yours but there's no better way to while away the remaining months until the new series than by indulging in the last one. The 2014 Christmas Special, Last Christmas, has just been released on DVD and Blu-ray too so that's just the icing on the cake.
