Johnbarrowmanwillandgrace Will & Grace is fondly remembered as one of the most popular US comedies in TV history with 8 seasons and just shy of 200 episodes under its critically acclaimed belt. It made household names of its two protagonists but things could have been very different indeed. Seeing as this is a list made up of mesmerising facts about John Barrowman, you've probably guessed what's coming next. John was originally in the running to play the show's leading role of Will Truman and even got as far as the final three during the casting process in the late 90s. He ultimately lost out, though, with the executive producers citing that he "wasn't gay enough" to play the role of a successful gay corporate lawyer. The irony, of course, being that John actually is gay, whereas Eric McCormack, who eventually won the part, isn't. Still, you win some, you lose, and it all worked out for the best in the end.
