Doctor Who: 10 Things You Never Knew About Series 3 Of NuWho

9. The Sound Of... Mickey?

Things escalated rather quickly at the end of The Sound of Drums when the Master unleashed his latest trove of terror unto the ever suffering human race. It had certainly been a long time coming and planet Earth faced its darkest hour as an army of Toclafane descended on the planet (accompanied, naturally, by Here Come the Drums by Voodoo Child - because how else was the world ever going to end?) below to destroy and enslave its unsuspecting inhabitants. If all of that wasn't enough to prove the Master's unruly malevolence, he even made everyone aboard the Valiant listen to the ensuing chaos (because that's just he rolls, if you hadn't guessed already) but there might just have been a familiar voice amidst the screams of fear and distress. According to those who have studied the clip, at one point Noel Clarke's voice - or at least, one that sounds distinctly like it - can be heard calling out for the Doctor for help. It doesn't make any sense that he'd be on our world, of course, and if it's true then the editors had obviously forgotten that at this point his character was back on the parallel universe. It's an interesting Easter egg nonetheless, though, and it just proves once again that absolutely nothing gets passed the eyes (or in this case, ears) of Doctor Who fans. Hell, they can even convince themselves that they've seen something that isn't actually there so quite literally anything can - and will - happen. It just adds to the anticipation, though, doesn't it?
