Doctor Who: 10 Time Periods We’d Love Them To Visit

8. The Witch Trials: 1500-1600

Witch Trials Oh come on. This is just crying out for an episode. You could pretty much go either way with a story set in the 15 and 1600s when cries of "burn the witch!" echoed throughout Europe. There could be an evil species of witch like the Carrionites from 'The Shakespeare Code.' Alternatively, the story could follow a good witch who is the key to saving the day, whilst on the run from the witch finders. It's always good to highlight the grim outcome of prejudice and irrationality. Think 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' but in the Reformation era. Doctor Who has always been good at gothic, and it's about time it tackled one of the creepiest and most irrational acts of mankind head on.

I am a history student and writer, pursuing a career in film and literature. I also love Star Wars, Doctor Who and many other film, TV and game franchises. It always interests me to hear what people have to say about films and TV shows, and I’m fascinated by new perspectives. I’d welcome any feedback and comments you might have as well!
