Doctor Who: 10 Time Periods We’d Love Them To Visit

5. Feudal Japan: 1500- 1650

Feudal Japan I admit that this would be very difficult to both cast and produce. But if handled correctly it could fit very well as an eccentric one-off like 'A Town Called Mercy' or 'The Crimson Horror.' What I have in mind is a Doctor Who tribute to the Jidaigeki genre and Akira Kurosawa's Samurai films. The villain/monster could be some dishonoured warrior who takes up residence in a fortress, and the Doctor has to work with the local Ninjas or Samurai to stop him. With such genre themes as honour, duty and purity of spirit, a day in the life of a Samurai could make for a decent Doctor Who epic.

I am a history student and writer, pursuing a career in film and literature. I also love Star Wars, Doctor Who and many other film, TV and game franchises. It always interests me to hear what people have to say about films and TV shows, and I’m fascinated by new perspectives. I’d welcome any feedback and comments you might have as well!
