Doctor Who: 10 Time Periods We’d Love Them To Visit

6. The American Revolution: 1776-1779

American Revolution This was an action-packed period with a lot of cool costumes, but it was also a pretty important chapter in world history. The creation of the most world's most powerful nation came through combat, debate and eccentricity, which are all welcome on Doctor Who. As I'm sure many an Assassin's Creed III player will testify, there is a great scope for events like the Boston Tea Party or the Battle of Chesapeake, and historical characters like Benjamin Franklin and George Washington. I'd personally like to see Thomas Paine get the 'Vincent and the Doctor' treatment €“ Paine was a great political philosopher who never got the credit that the other Founding Fathers did, and I reckon he might have got along well with a certain Time Lord with bizarre fashion tastes.

I am a history student and writer, pursuing a career in film and literature. I also love Star Wars, Doctor Who and many other film, TV and game franchises. It always interests me to hear what people have to say about films and TV shows, and I’m fascinated by new perspectives. I’d welcome any feedback and comments you might have as well!
