Doctor Who: 10 Times The Doctor Gave Zero F**ks

9. Last Of The Time Lords

Oh, Martha Jones. Life as the Doctor's coveted companion is hard enough at the best of times but it turned out to be a particularly turbulent affair for this fiesty medical student who spent most of her initial tenure trying to escape the shadow of her persistent predecessor. Look. Nobody said that taking over from Rose Tyler was going to be easy, but even Martha herself probably never imagined that the process of affirming her worth as a bonafide TARDIS co-resident would've been so difficult. She was the most faithful friend the Doctor could've ever asked for but apparently nothing she did was ever good enough for him to acknowledge her as a human being in her own right. In fact, he was just far too busy being overly hung up on the loss of his beloved to realise that he was slowly but surely destroying any remaining shard of self confidence that Martha had left. It took her single handedly walking the entire Earth to get a bit of recognition out of him so nobody could blamed her when she finally decided to call it a day at the end of Series 3. Actually, most of us were surprised that she hadn't gone sooner. And guess what? The Doctor still wasn't that bothered. As a matter of fact, he didn't even try to force a single tear out as he hugged her for the last time (and he was already thinking of what excuse he could use the first time she phoned him). He was just secretly relieved that he'd finally be able to get on with his life without constantly disappointing a love sick puppy. And guess what? Not a single f**k was given.
