Doctor Who: 10 Traumatising Monsters That Scarred You For Life

1. The Weeping Angels

In an Earth shattering twist that absolutely no one saw coming, the Weeping Angels take the number one spot. In other news, the sky is blue, puppies are cute and Superman€™s body was found dead. A bat shaped weapon was found on the scene. The Weeping Angels. They don't exist when they are being observed. The moment they are seen by any other living creature, they freeze into stone. They don't have a choice on the matter, either. It's just a fact of their biology. In the sight of any living thing, they literally turn into stone. And no one can kill a stone. Of course, a stone can't kill either, but then you turn your head and blink... And then, oh yes, it can. How come no one has ever thought of making a horror movie based on the concept of statues turning into cold blooded killers when no one is looking? It€™s such a novel concept that the rules are so easy to follow. All you need to know is, "Don't blink". It's practically a mantra among fans, and also why the Angels' debut episode, Blink, is a popular choice among newcomers as an easy way to access the show. Unfortunately, though, like the path of Superman or the Daleks before them, their popularity is putting them in danger of being overpowered. They don€™t just move at fast speed, manipulate light and send people back in time anymore. Now they can exist by being recorded and even possess people's bodies, communicate through electronic devices, manipulate perceptions and generally become giant building size statues. Obviously, they value stealth so much. Then again, their giant form can somehow freely move in a heavily populated area without being seen, but that's a discussion for another day. Their stories seem to be on a downward spiral, too. Hopefully their core concept is so strong it would be a long time coming before they outstay their welcome. So don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast, faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good luck. What did you think of this list?
