Doctor Who: 10 Worst Episodes Of NuWho

1. Planet Of The Dead

Oh, Doctor. Where did it all go so wrong? Fans were disheartened when it was revealed that their favourite show would be taking a 'break' in 2009 but their spirits were lifted by the promise that they'd get four 'special' episodes to make the gap year slightly more bearable. 'Special' in what sense, exactly? The first offering, Planet of the Dead, was far from it. The episode looks visually stunning, owing to the fact that filming took place in an actual desert, but the story is mediocre at best (a double decker bus drives through a wormhole to another world and... nope, that's about it!) which means that it eventually evaporates altogether under the heat of the Dubai sun. As for Michelle Ryan as the 'companion of the week' Lady Christina de Souza, well... You can see why her Bionic Woman series never took off, can't you? A boring character, a boring story (the only real saving grace is Lee Evans as Malcolm but he's typically and tragically underused) and a boring villain to boot. Because who even cares about the Swarm anyway? What did you think of this list? Are there any other NuWho episodes that should have been included? Join the conversation in the comments section below.
