Doctor Who: 10 Worst Things The Eleventh Doctor Has Ever Done

1. Committed Genocide (The Vampires Of Venice)

We know that the Doctor isn't averse to wiping out entire species. He tried to do this with his own people, after all. But if you thought he had his fill after the Time War, you thought wrong.

On a trip to 16th century Venice, the Doctor, Amy, and Rory discover that the city's young women are being converted into mysterious, vampire-like creatures. They find out that this is to make them compatible with the male Saturnyns that are living in the water.

Led by Rosanna Calvierri, these Saturnyns are the last surviving members of their species. With no females, Rosanna is converting human women to continue the line of succession. A noble objective, if executed somewhat cruelly.

Over the course of the episode, the Doctor does the following: he allows a local boatbuilder to sacrifice himself by blowing up the converted women; he leads the Ponds into danger, forcing them to kill Rosanna's son; and he watches Rosanna sacrifice herself to the remaining males once all hope is lost.

Well done Doctor, you did it again. You killed another entire race.

Though the Doctor's intentions were noble, surely there was a better solution than letting the Saturnyns die out. In Series 6, he was at it again, convincing humanity to murder the Silence whenever they saw them.

This guy freakin' loves a genocide!
