Doctor Who: 10 Worst Things The Master Has Ever Done

1. Destroying A Portion Of The Universe

The Master has killed people, burned planets to the ground, worked with the Cybermen - many times - but none of his villainous schemes can compare to the damage he caused in Logopolis, where he ended up destroying a portion of the universe.

In this serial, the Master arrives on Logopolis, a planet full of mathematicians whose work is vital in preventing full-on universal disaster. But since "universal disaster" is probably the most exciting phrase the Master could hear, he wreaks havoc throughout Logopolis, killing many of its residents and eventually causing the planet itself to crumble and fall. But that's just the beginning.

The Master's interference also has the rather significant side effect of widespread universal decay, with Adric and Nyssa watching helplessly as a huge chunk of the universe fades away before their very eyes - including Nyssa's home world, Traken.

Things get so bleak that the Doctor is forced to work with the Master to try and save the rest of the universe, which ultimately leads to the Doctor's death, and subsequent regeneration. Even though the Master didn't mean to cause this much chaos... this is still, by far, the worst thing he's ever been responsible for.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
