Doctor Who: 10 Worst Things The Twelfth Doctor Ever Did
9. Lying About Not Being Blind In Pyramid At The End Of The World
Everyone knows the Doctor is prone to lying. Unfortunately, the Doctor's aversion to the truth doesn't always play out in their favour.
In the Series 10 episode Oxygen, the Doctor loses his sight while attempting to save Bill. He tells her it's only temporary and at the end of the episode he assures her that his blindness has passed. However, two episodes later the Doctor gets trapped in a lab that's about to explode and confesses to Bill he is still blind and can't enter the code to get out.
This forces Bill to make a deal with the Monks, a hostile alien race, who restore the Doctor's vision but at the cost of giving them rule of Earth. While the Doctor couldn't have known this would happen, his reluctance to tell Bill he was still blind meant she was put in a difficult situation where she either had to let her friend die or risk the fate of the planet to save him.
Had she have known from the start it's possible that her, the Doctor and Nardole could have better planned around the Doctor's lack of sight. While not a terrible action on the part of the Doctor, his lying did needlessly complicate the situation.
