Doctor Who: 10 Writers Who Should Never, Ever Return

10. Mark Gatiss

If Steven Moffat is "Satan", then Mark Gatiss is "Satan's Best Friend". That€™s right. This guy is definitely as evil as he sounds and, take it from the experts, he is far too devoted when it comes to writing for Doctor Who. His thorough and accurate portrayal of period elements in the series (as evident in The Idiot's Lantern and The Unquiet Dead) is far from remarkable because who cares about a story that has got all the details right, really? If there's anything you can expect from him it's that he's spot on about the depth and realism of the characters and the situation at hand. He's also fantastic at making your skin crawl and his ideas have a way of being nostalgic without ever having experienced it yourself, which is absolutely the reason why it's unworthy of him to be the mystery writer for Series 9. There's no need for improvement given the blast that Series 8 has been, is there? To answer the question, there is not.
