Doctor Who: 11 Awesome And Nerdy Fan Creations

1. Dalek STORM - Dark Dimensions Special Weapons Dalek

3293_89939922291_4311868_n Feeling that the new series Daleks were too small to really be frightening, Alan Clark decided to build his own take on the fan favorite Who baddie. Basing his Dalek on a sketch by BBC artist Rocky Marshall, Dalek STORM (Special Tactical Operations Radioactive Mutant) is a much more formidable foe for our favorite Time Lord. 38848_448605677291_1572803_n It took Mr. Clark eight months, and plenty of wood, to build the menacing 6 foot tall creature that now lives in his back garden with his two earlier Dalek creations. It is fitted with two water cannons, red and green neon lighting, and a voice modulator for the operator inside to properly EX-TER-MIN-ATE! A favorite at conventions and events, the fully mobilized Storm has spawned imitators around the world, and a nice little internet community as well. Mr. Clark hopes the BBC will see his work, and maybe feature it on an episode of the show. While that will probably never happen, fans can see it at conventions around England. You can see much more here. And be sure to check it out on Facebook here. I know there are probably some really cool ones I've missed. If you have a favorite, let us know in the comments.

A writer in spirit, a baker by profession. Carl has been a comic shop impresario, comic book illustrator, record store clerk, electronic musician, late night radio DJ, club promoter, graphic designer, and other cool things you wish you could be. He mistakenly had purple dreadlocks once. For three years. Which made him way less cool. He doesn't actually know what the word impresario means, and is way too lazy to Google it. Carl is also an American, and for that he apologizes.
