Doctor Who: 11 Reasons We Love Matt Smith (And The Eleventh Doctor)
10. The Interplanetary Uncle
Its little coincidence that the first scenes featuring The Eleventh Doctor were between him and a young Amelia Pond. One of the best things about this Doctor is the way he acts around children. He treats everyone he meets with respect and a complete lack of judgment. Whilst the Tenth Doctor would strut around the place proclaiming his brilliance and naming others 'little people' Eleven barely even notices the difference between a child and a fully grown adult.
Many episodes, especially from Series 5 feature a minor taking part in the action and for the most part they've been great. Elliot from The Hungry Earth and Little Amelia are particular stand outs with the Doctor finding important roles for them in his plans without being patronizing. He compares Elliot's inability to read to his own inability to being able to make meringues making the boy's deepest insecurities seem irrelevant in such a way that any child with dyslexia should benefit from.
This complete lack of judgment is a truly endearing character trait that with any luck will be displayed more often.
