Doctor Who: 11 Reasons We Love Matt Smith (And The Eleventh Doctor)

9. Fesses

FEZ Another charming thing about the Eleventh Doctor is his ability to get carried away with strange things. A trait that's not appearing so much in Series 7 but a good one nonetheless. The roller coaster ride series finale 'The Big Bang' was filled with danger, dankness, death and the wonderful introduction of the Doctor's fez. 'I wear a fez now, fesses are cool.' He proclaims with such pride that despite its two minutes of screen time the loss of the fez is one of the biggest gut punches of the episode. Smith's childlike attachment to stray ideas that pass through his head is truly endearing and best represented through his quest to find a suitable hat to wear with his bow ties and tweed jackets.

Whilst not writing articles for WhatCulture! Stephen can usually be found livin' it up in the city or livin' it down on the couch in front of one of many DVDs. You can tell how many of his friends are in Edinburgh at any given time by measuring how prolific he is on this site.
