3. Ninth Doctor - The Long Game (2005)
Finally, 9 years after the Fox/BBC production of Doctor Who, a new version was ready for our screens. It starred Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor, now the sole surviving Time Lord after a disastrous war between the Daleks and Time Lords. He showed us a dark, war-hardened and bitter version of the beloved character, and forever changed the way we perceived him. Despite only lasting one season, he enjoyed possibly the best single-season run of episodes in the show's history. To be honest, I actually had a hard time picking an episode from his era as the worst. Not because they're all amazing; they're not. But even the ones that aren't epic and memorable are just average. There's not necessarily a terrible one in the mix. However, eventually I had to pick one, so I went with this. An episode heavily featuring Adam Mitchell, who was intentionally designed to last only two episodes as a companion before being kicked out of the TARDIS by the Doctor himself. While this is an interesting thought, there's really no need to watch it. It's essentially 45 minutes of Mitchell being a jerk before the Doctor has had enough of him. There's not a real sense of threat anywhere in the episode (when there is one - a mild one - they get out of it really quickly). On the plus side, Simon Pegg guest stars, and does an amazing job in his role. So there is that.
If You'd Like a Good Christopher Eccleston Story: Pretty much anything else in the 2005 series.
