4. Eighth Doctor - Doctor Who: The Movie (1996)
I feel bad about this one: Paul McGann only appeared in one Doctor Who on-screen adventure, so to bash it seems wrong. Still, I did say at the beginning there would be one story per Doctor, and seeing as this is his only one.... Doctor Who: The Movie (or as it's sometimes called, The Enemy Within) was made 7 years after the classic series went off the air, and was a joint production between the BBC in the U.K. and Fox Network in U.S.A. It was attempt to rejuvenate the show, and introduce it to a wider audience in North America. The story follows the Seventh Doctor landing on Earth, getting shot, and being rushed to the emergency room. Since he's unconscious, he's unable to tell the surgeons he's a Time Lord, and therefore has two hearts. Needless to say, he dies during the operation, but shortly after being wheeled into the morgue, he regenerates into.... the Eighth Doctor! Unfortunately when he landed on Earth, he was transporting the Master to Gallifrey, who then escapes and takes the body of a human paramedic (played by Eric Roberts). The TV movie in general has a very divided opinion amongst fans. Some of us (myself included) think it's a worthy, if flawed, entry into the canon. Some hate it and reject it outright. Their reasoning why? One specific line. The Doctor says "I'm half-human. On my mother's side." That lone line has caused more controversy and arguments than possibly any other line in Doctor Who's history. There's other complaints too, like hammy acting and a senseless plot, but those aren't so major.
If You'd Like a Good Paul McGann Story: Ummmm.... this one! Unless you'd like to give his numerous audio dramas a try, which are mostly really good.
