Doctor Who: 11 Worst Adventures Ever Made

1. Eleventh Doctor - Victory of the Daleks (2010)

Daleks

When Matt Smith stepped into the role of the Doctor, he had some pretty big shoes to fill. David Tennant's reign as the Doctor was regarded with universal acclaim, and brought the show into never before seen levels of popularity and success. But any concerns we had about this new Doctor was done away with in his inaugural episode The Eleventh Hour. Matt Smith left critics raving, in a good way, about his performance. Not only that, he kept our spirits high in the following episode.... until.... 17 April 2010 - the night that Victory of the Daleks aired. There is so much to hate about this episode I don't know where to begin. The dreadful plot, the first of the now famous "Kill it with love" stories that never seem to stop, the ending where the Doctor gives the British Air Force jets that can fly into space and destroy a Dalek ship with ease (and yet, for some reason they don't use those to win World War II immediately).... there is so much more that I could talk about. But let's focus on the number one travesty of this episode. The "Skittles Daleks" seen above. Apparently someone a the BBC decided that everyone's favorite villains needed to look more like a rainbow when they lined up. Again, there's much more to this trainwreck of an episode, but I should end here. I can feel my blood pressure rising. If You'd Like a Good Matt Smith Story: Vincent and the Doctor may well be the most emotional episode of Matt Smith's run, I wholeheartedly recommend that one. Also try The Doctor's Wife, which is basically writer Neil Gaiman's love letter to the show. So what do you think? Any bad Doctor Who stories we overlooked? Sound off in the comments below.
