Doctor Who: 12 Annoying Characters, Companions And Villains

2. Rose Tyler

Rose Tyler Billie Piper 2 Okay; this is where I know I'll be completely lambasted, but I cannot buy into the Rose love! She's a stroppy, vacant teenager who gets up, goes to work, goes home, watches TV, eats chips and goes to bed. She can't think for herself or beyond herself and she walks all over Mickey every single day. To her Mickey is a mere convenience as opposed to being single and he knows it really - but he loves her and is willing to wait for her to love him properly too. The depth of her ignorance is revealed fully when she leaves Clive's house in "Rose" and gets back into the Mini. Really, how can you not notice that your boyfriend has been replaced by a living plastic copy? I am very sure that I would notice if my husband was replaced by a sweaty looking plastic thing that could neither drive in a straight line or say my name! In Father's Day she uses time travel for her own selfish gains and almost causes the end of the world - and The Doctor ceasing to exist. In School Reunion she shows animosity and jealousy to Sarah Jane of all people, and once she's stranded on "Pete's World" she finds ways to cross back to our Earth to find The Doctor, knowing that she is causing rifts in time and risking the general implosion of the universe - but she doesn't care. I'd bet any money that the crack in young Amy's bedroom wall is Rose's fault. No love for Rose here, I'm afraid. Everything she ever did was for herself. Like mother, like daughter. I shan't deny that Rose had some heroic moments, because she did, but her selfish side wins out - even ruining Martha's run by appearing on the monitor screaming "DOCTOR!" all the time.
