Doctor Who: 12 NuWho Characters Who Should've Been Companions
12. Lady Christina De Souza
An aristocratic thief from our time, Christina met the Doctor in the Easter special Planet of the Dead. After a heist didn't go according to plan, she had to run from the police. That run involved boarding a bus and them getting transported together, through a wormhole, to the eponymous dead planet. De Souza wasn't a much of a hit with viewers as some of the other characters on this list. That's not to say she didn't have some potential - she had a touch of amorality and a heightened sense of her own importance that could have been an excellent foil to the Tenth Doctor. However, the more interesting aspects of her character weren't really delved into in a huge amount of detail. She could still have been a companion, though. At the end of the episode she asked the Doctor to let her come with him, only to be turned down by a Time Lord wishing to travel alone. She didn't do too badly out of the rejection though - not many other thieves get to go around in a flying bus.
