Doctor Who: 12 Things To Take Away From Last Christmas

11. "Danny Pink Is Dead!"

Bet you weren't expecting to see him again, were you? Well, you probably were, actually. After all, Steven Moffat's got a history for resurrecting his deceased characters - *cough* Rory Williams *cough* - but it looks like this time Danny Pink really is gone for good. Samuel Anderson made a surprise return during Last Christmas but in true Doctor Who style he didn't really come back at all. Dreams within dreams, and all that. After his heroic sacrifice at the end of the last series which saw him get hit by a car and become a Cyberman (you had to be there) but this Christmas he came back to save Clara one last time - albeit whilst she was sleeping, though it wasn't as creepy as it sounds - and used one of his inspirational "solider" speeches to convince her to wake up. It was one of the episode's more emotional moments which highlighted the significance Danny had in Clara's life and how much his untimely death has impacted her. Hopefully it's given her some much needed closure, too, if watching your beloved being transformed into a Cyberman and flying up into the sky isn't closure enough. Danny Pink, you will be missed.
