Doctor Who: 13 Cool Details In David Tennant & John Barrowman's Last Of The Time Lords Commentary

7. The Street Confrontation Was John Simm's Final Scene (And Civilians Made It A Pain To Shoot)

Doctor Who Last of the Time Lords David Tennant John Simm the Master

Smack-bang in the middle of the episode, the Master confronts Martha in the middle of a run-down London street, killing Thomas Milligan in the process.

According to Agyeman, this scene was the last one that John Simm filmed, and it was definitely an eventful one to end on due to certain complications caused by the onlooking crowds.

Because this was a location shoot, there were members of the public nearby, and Agyeman recalls that this produced "a lot of noise", resulting in everything taking "twice as long."

Apparently, there was also one specific civilian who had to be "forcefully" persuaded to turn his music down, which is strange, because the Series 3 finale makes it clear that the Master really likes getting down to some cheesy pop tunes.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
