Doctor Who: 13 Doctor/Monster Match-Ups Fans Would Love To See

13. The First Doctor vs. The Judoon

THE DOCTOR: The First Doctor is a study in contrasts. An old man yet young, arrogant and carefree, physically frail yet full of authority. One need only watch several of his episodes to catch the mischievous twinkle in his eye and note his rebellious streak, a fierce dichotomy to his assumed superiority to those in his immediate vicinity. His casual willingness to murder a caveman to make good his escape (only to be stopped by his eighth incarnation) when compared to his insistence on adhering to the laws of time ("You can't rewrite history. Not one line!") speaks of the mind of a teenager trapped in the body of an old man - a need for adventure yet bound by the rules. THE ENEMY: The Judoon, also known as the shock troopers of the universe. Hired both privately and by the Shadow Proclamation, these rhino-heads are a highly organised unit with a single-minded outlook on every situation. Crush all opposition to get the job done. Among other things, they have stolen a hospital and placed it on the moon, abducted a Scottish castle, and shut down an entire space port just to catch one man, but yet they still obey every law on their world and ours. Ultimately, they are the epitome of guns for hire, and it's little comfort that they are usually hired by policing agencies when their lasers are staring you in the face. THE BATTLE: Imagine what would happen when you have a highly organised law-abiding task-force with shock-and-awe tactics and you drop a stroppy arrogant teenage/old man into the mix? It would be utterly hilarious for the First Doctor to be walking around, acting like he owns the joint, causing trouble and basically causing the Judoon the mother of all headaches. Ultimately, it would be even odds as to whether the Judoon would teleport the First Doctor to a prison planet in exasperation or whether the Doctor would hit the Judoon over the head with his cane. Perhaps Susan could stand and yell "Grandfather!" again. ALTERNATE ENEMY: Running. Perhaps he chould get a Segway.
