Doctor Who: 14 Cool Details Revealed In David Tennant's The End Of Time Part One Commentary

4. The Turkey Scene Was Shot With A Single Turkey

Burgers, tramp coats... and now this. We already mentioned the scene where the Master rips a turkey to bits with his bare hands, and it's another moment that the commentators provide some behind-the-scenes details about.

The Master pulls and tears and shreds the turkey, eating it like an absolute savage, and as a viewer, you'd probably assume that multiple different turkeys were used during filming, in order to get multiple different shots to then edit together at a frenetic pace.

But in actual fact, this whole sequence was done with just a single turkey, with Lyn noting that John Simm was provided with a spittoon, so he could shove the meat into his mouth, chew it, then immediately spit it out.

To be honest though, scoffing down a turkey doesn't exactly sound like a bad day at work! Especially with gravy. And Yorkshire puddings. Is it dinner time yet?

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
