After the Doctor breaks into Jeff's bedroom and borrows his laptop, he hijacks a video call in which several scientific experts are discussing the current alien threat.

One of these men is from the Jodrell Bank Observatory in England, and according to Wenger, the man who plays this role is the brother of the episode's director, Adam Smith.

In addition, Moffat adds that Smith tried to get him to do a cameo in this section, but he declined. On reflection, that was definitely the right call: as funny as a Moffat cameo would've been, it would also have been just a bit too self-referential.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
