In an earlier entry, we mentioned a John Hurt joke that was removed from the final edit. Well, here's one that made the cut - and it was thought up by the actor himself.

When the three Doctors are saying their goodbyes at the end of the episode, Hurt's War Doctor quips "which one is mine?" (while observing the parked TARDISes) before stepping inside his run-down police box and flying away from the scene.

As revealed by Moffat, this line wasn't in the script. Rather, it was something that John Hurt came up with - either in the moment, or just before the cameras started rolling - and it was so good that everyone just went along with it.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
